Workshop on Dynamic Data Driven Smart Systems (DDDSS)

Date: Dec 18, 2017, Time: 1:30 PM to 5:30PM - In conjunction with HiPC 2017

Submission Webpage:  https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dddss2017
Extended Submission Deadline:  October 15th, 2017

Background

The Dynamic Data Driven Application Systems (DDDAS) paradigm provides a powerful platform for ubiquitous data acquisition and processing. Massive-scale instrumentation of distributed assets, in-network processing of high velocity data, predictive analytics and superior situational awareness need feedback-driven dynamic adaptation in fundamental attributes such as real-timeliness, reliability, security and privacy.  Examples of application areas requiring these capabilities are Smart and Connected Communities, Smart Cities, Smart Grids, and Industrial Internet of Things.  The InfoSymbiotics/ DDDAS paradigm (www.1dddas.org) is an ideal fit to address the needs of such systems as well as emerging IoT (Internet of Things) platforms. This workshop focuses on understanding the role that InfoSymbiotics/DDDAS can play in addressing the needs of a variety of existing and emerging Big Data/Big Computing and Internet of Things application areas.

Call for Papers and Presentations

We invite original articles, position papers, and short presentations on research that explores  systems, algorithms,  applications, and support areas related to InfoSymbiotics/DDDAS for emerging technologies. Participants are encouraged to submit papers on topics including, but not limited to:

·         Coordinated control frameworks in IoT and Smart Systems

·         Tracking methods and situational awareness

·         Security, authentication, and privacy in smart systems

·         Dynamic energy and energy-aware systems

·         Earth and space systems and environments

·         Structural and process monitoring applications

·         Assimilation and uncertainty quantification

All submissions will be reviewed by at least 3 referees. Accepted submissions will be presented at the workshop and selected papers will be invited for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Cluster Computing.
